Luxembourg - Producer of flexible foams, Armacell International SA and German manufacturer and processor of cellular rubber and polyethylene foam W. KÖPP GmbH have entered into a “partnership for excellence”, which will see technology transfer between the two suppliers.
As part of this agreement, Köpp will transfer its proprietary bun foam technology to Armacell. Additionally, both parties will increase global product availability and provide customers with extended service coverage.
Following an initial period of calibration, Armacell will launch commercial production of the foams at its US-based component foams manufacturing facility, at which a capacity expansion programme was recently undertaken.
The partnership will initially run for a 15-year term with multiple extension possibilities.
Commenting on the announcement, Patrick Mathieu, president & CEO of the Armacell Group, said: “We are delighted to partner with Köpp. Our component foams customers will gain access to a broader suite of high-tech products.”
Achim Raab, managing director and owner of Köpp described the agreement as “a milestone” in the evolution of his company.
Köpp employs 250 people at its two locations in Germany, production facility in Romania, and as part of our joint venture in India.
The company produces a variety of materials for application in the automotive, packing, aerospace and mechanical engineering sectors.
