Milan – Prometeon Tyre Group (PTG), the former industrial tire unit of Pirelli & C. SpA, has launched a new organisation and commercial structure, in a bid to “strengthen its presence” in different markets.

The Italian company announced 13 Feb that the new structure is in line with “the strategic interest of its shareholders to continue the integration process with the Aeolus group”.

The ChemChia-owned Aeolus Group was poised to take over PTG following its separation from Pirelli last year.

However, the planned €215-million was terminated late last year due to failure to gain regulatory approvals by Chinese authorities.

In its new structure, PTG chairman and CEO, Giorgio Luca Bruno, has appointed Murat Akyildiz as chief commercial officer of the company, to whom all structures related to sales report.

Akyildiz has been with Prometeon for over two years and has held various positions including CEO of region MEA, Turkey and India; CEO of region EMEA and recently CEO of Great Europe (Turkey and Europe).

He previously held various positions with the P&G Group for over 20 years.

Alexandre Bregantim has been named as chief technical officer, and will be in charge of operational functions related to research and development, production and product quality.

Bregantim has been chief R&D and quality officer of Prometeon since 2016 and has more than 20 years’ experience in Pirelli Tyre in the fields of R&D, manufacturing and quality in Brazil and China.

Murilo Fonseca will take the role of CEO of Americas under the new structure. Fonseca was formerly Prometeon chief operating officer and chief commercial office LATAM.

He held a career for more than 20 years in several areas and positions of Goodyear before joining SKF sales & marketing LATAM and then Pirelli Tyre Industrial business.

Additionally, Alp Gunvaran, who joined Prometeon in September 2016, will take on the role of CEO of region MEA, Turkey, Russia and CIS.

Formerly CEO of Turkey, East Europe, Russia & CIS, Gunvaran has over 16 years of experience in P&G.

Marco Solari, the former Prometeon global sales director and managing director of Italy, France, Spain, Nordics and Benelux, will take the helm as CEO of region Europe.

Solari has many years of commercial experience with Pirelli Tyre as commercial director of the truck business Europe, MEA and APAC and chief commercial officer APAC for all Pirelli businesses.

Yves Pouliquen has also been appointed as CEO of the APAC & India region. Pouliquen has held this position with Prometeon since 2016. Pouliquen has a profound knowledge of the Asian market, where he previously held the positions of Asia-Pacific business sales development manager, managing director Malaysia and commercial director APAC for Michelin.
