ContiTech invests €20m in Hungary expansion
Nyíregyháza, Hungary – ContiTech AG has invested €20 million in its production plant in Nyíregyháza, as part of an ongoing expansion project.
The new capacity was commissioned on 23 Jan, the German manufacturer of rubber-based industrial products informed ERJ.
The investment, it said, involved the expansion of production in compounding, air-spring systems and mobile-fluid systems.
As part of the project, hose-line production moved into a 4,000 square-metre empty building in 2016, where new lines were installed.
Additionally, a new warehouse for hoses and air springs was built – spanning 4,500 square metre – while a 1,000 square-metre area was built for compounding area.
According to ContiTech’s correspondence, 500 jobs are expected to be created at the location within the next few years.
