Zeon elastomers business grows
Tokyo – Japanese speciality chemicals company Zeon Corp has posted a sharp 37% year-on-year increase in operating income for its Elastomer Business, on sales of Yen98,400 million (€745 million), in the three months to end of September.
Within the Elastomer Business, sales of rubber rose 16% for the three-month period to Yen17,700 million, with lactices and chemicals also reporting increases of 14% and 1%.
General purpose rubbers’ sales rose 20% during the period under study with a 38% rise in exports offsetting the 4% domestic decline. Speciality rubbers posted a 3% rise in sales, with growth reported both domestically and in export.
