The scheme offers a suite of information including infographics, leaflets and posters to be displayed at members’ facilities. Materials can be downloaded through a newly launched tyrerecovery.org.uk website.

The materials ensure consumers know their tires are being handled correctly and appropriately by responsible retailers, according to the TRA.

The information, it added, highlights the industry’s obligations and how the correct processing of used tires minimises the impact on the environment whilst simultaneously benefitting the economy.

The materials show to consumers “the value of the tire recovery process and how the small environmental charge they pay when replacing tyres is used,” said Peter Taylor OBE, secretary general of the TRA.
