Decatur, Illinois – ContiTech North America Inc. is introducing an enhanced version of its Trackman rubber tracks, called Amorplug Ultra, designed for use on the highest horsepower tractors in the industry.
Conti debuts track for farming's highest horsepower tractors
The new system is being introduced at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, which concludes 31 Aug.
"One of our goals is to develop tracks that enable the larger implements to take advantage of more horsepower and address the needs of tomorrow, today," said Rob Schultz, Continental's product manager for rubber tracks. "More horsepower means hauling larger implements. Larger implements mean less time in the field, and less time in the field means happy farmers."
Conti said the Armorlug Ultra incorporates a manufacturing process that embeds three fabric layers into the drive lugs, including one that is continuous. The company claims the more durable track delivers 30 percent longer life than others.
Continental acquired the Trackman name and product line in 2014 as part of its purchase of Veyance Technologies Inc., the former Goodyear Engineered Products business.
Trackman has served the aftermarket track industry for more than 20 years. Conti said it holds more patents in this sector than any other rubber track manufacturer in the world.
