Moscow - Gazpromneft Lubricants, operator of the Gazprom Neft lubricants business, has begun production of an ‘environmentally-friendly’ rubber extender oil at its Omsk plant, the company announced 28 Aug.
Launch of the product, badged Gazpromneft TDAE, follows a RUB400-million (€5.7-million) investment to modernise the Omsk refinery.
The product, which uses Gazpromneft technology, is designed to give plasticity and flexibility to rubber, tires, and fabricated rubber products. it is registered as compliant with European chemical regulations REACH, the company said.
Gazpromneft added that the product had passed laboratory testing based on 24 metrics demanded by “one of the world’s most important international tire makers.”
