Moscow – Sibur increased its elastomers production volumes by 11.3% year-on-year in the first six months of this year, the Russian petrochemicals major said in a first-half results statement.
On the back of improved demand, sales volumes of elastomers at Sibur increased by 4.3% year-on-year to 238 thousand tonnes, added the 14 Aug announcement.
Overall revenues from sales of plastics, elastomers and intermediates for the period ended 30 June increased by 14.4% to RR76.2 billion (€1.1 billion),
The segment's sales increase was due mainly to a "favourable market environment" for elastomers, said Sibur.
Production of plastics, elastomers and intermediates came in 2.9% higher at 2,979 kilotonnes (kt), added the report.
Earnings (EBITDA) at Sibur’s Plastics, Elastomers & Intermediates segment in the first six months inched up 0.6% year-on-year.
