Aeolus to add engineering tire capacity
Jiaozuo, China – A project to add 30,000 unit/year capacity for engineering tires, including jumbo tires, at Aeolus’ existing site in Jiaozuo, Henan was approved in May.
The project will be conducted by Guilin Beili, a fully owned subsidiary of Aeolus with 1 million annual capacity for truck and bus tires. The company plans to pump €20.6 million (157 million yuan) total investment into the expansion, according to China’s construction project online bidding website.
“It will draw support in manufacturing process, formula and finite element simulation technology from Prometeon Tyre Group,” Pirelli’s industrial tire unit, “and be backed by Beijing Research and Design Institute of Rubber Industry,” a leading institute in jumbo tire under ChemChina, said the website.
A range of Guilin Beili’s jumbo tire facilities will be moved to the Jiaozuo site. The project is scheduled to start construction in January 2018 and come on stream in June 2019.
