Conti appoints new heads at PLT tire unit

    Hanover, Germany – Continental’s passenger and light truck (PLT) tires development unit has appointed Marco Gellings as the head of winter tire development worldwide effective as of 1 Jan, the German company announced 8 March.

    Gellings was previsouly head of summer tire line development for the Middle East, Europe and Africa region. He is a mechanical engineer and has been working with Continental in R&D since 2001.

    Denise Ewald has succeeded Marco Gellings as head of summer tire line development, effective 1 Feb. An industrial engineering graduate, Ewald has held a variety of positions at Continental since joining the company in 2006.

    Most recently she was responsible for OE tire development for French automakers, prior to which she worked in product management for the APAC region and was based in Shanghai.

    In their new roles, Denise Ewald and Marco Gellings report to Burkhard Wies, head of PLT tire line development worldwide at Continental.
