Lanxess to showcase new tire offerings at TTE

Cologne, Germany – Rhein Chemie Additives, a Lanxess business unit, will be showcasing its latest tire industry offerings at Tire Technology Expo in Hanover 14-16 Feb.

In a statement on 9 Jan, the Lanxess additives business said the new technologies on display included eco-friendly Rhenodiv tire release agents, Rhenomark tire marking paints, Rhenoshape tire curing bladders and Rhenogran aramid fiber masterbatches.

The company said it had developed a new range of unfilled single-release inside lubes for cleaner tire production.

According to Rhein Chemie, Rhenodiv BP-337 and Rhenodiv BP-3091 were developed in response to increasing demand for the absence of migrating silicones in the tire molding process.

The products, it said, enable tire producers to apply very low quantities of inside lube onto the green tire.

Rhein Chemie also said that it had been “constantly increasing” its capacities for Rhenoshape high-performance permanently coated bladders and has upgraded production sites with automated processes.

Rhenoshape tire curing bladders equipped with Rhenodiv permanent coatings enable tire manufacturers to produce tires without using anadditional release agent.

Another product on display is Rhenogran P91-40 aramid fiber masterbatches which incorporates resilient and lightweight Twaron aramid short-fiber pulp evenly in the rubber compound.

According to the statement, in addition to polymers typically used in tires such as NR, IR, BR and SBR, Rhenogran P91-40 is suitable for other rubber grades including EPDM, CR, NBR and HNBR.
