Goodyear launches real-time fleet management system

Brussels – Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has launched a new pan-European fleet management business called Goodyear Proactive Solutions, the company has announced.
The business offers vehicle-to-fleet operations management systems featuring “advanced telematics and predictive analytics technology,” said Goodyear on 23 Nov.
Using intelligent computer algorithms, data from commercial tire and service business, and accurate reporting, the new system make it possible for fleet operators to identify and resolve tire-related “before they happen”, the company added.
The system is designed to enable fleet managers to monitor their vehicles and tires in real-time.
Developed and designed in partnership with commercial fleet operators over the last two years, the system is claimed offer increased fleet efficiency by avoiding up to 75% of tire-related breakdowns.
Also, according to Goodyear, it can help reduce total cost of operations by cutting fuel costs up to €300 per vehicle, per month. The system also improves carbon footprint by using around 10% less fuel.
The new business offers two families of services to enable smart, safe and sustainable mobility: Proactive Tire which offers a range of services including tire pressure, temperature and tread depth monitoring; Proactive Fleet whichincludes two options, driver behaviour and track & trace, which help fleets to reduce fuel consumption and journey times while increasing safety.
“In a digital economy, consumers and businesses expect deliveries to be faster, cheaper and more flexible, and in response the industry is becoming increasingly connected and automated,” said Michel Rzonzef, vice-president, commercial business, Goodyear Europe, Middle-East and Africa.
