Vienna – Declines in its medical gloves and industrial products markets have forced Semperit Group into a downward revision of its business forecast for full-year 2016.
Semperit now expects its operational results to be “well below” the results in 2015, including earnings declines of about 10 percent for EBITDA and about 20 percent for EBIT, the Austrian group said 20 Sept.
The downgrade, it explained, was “due to the continuous difficult situation in the Medical Sector and the cyclical decreasing demand in the Industrial Sector, especially in the Sempertrans segment.”
Despite these more difficult economic conditions, Semperit insisted that it would continue its growth plans, including entering into new markets in the Industrial Sector and upgrading production capacities.
In the Medical Sector, it added, the focus will be on implementing further production capacities in Malaysia, process optimisations, efficiency enhancements and cost reductions.
