Luxembourg – Orion Engineered Carbons has confirmed that the company’s French subsidiary will close down its production facility in Amb?s.
In an 18 Aug statement, the carbon black producer said that it had reached an agreement with the works council and regional labour authority over the planned closure of the plant.
The company expects to cease operation at the facility by the end of 2016, following the depletion of existing stocks
The plant employs 40 people and has a carbon black production capacity of up to 45kilotonnes per annum, predominately used in the production of tires and other rubber goods.
