Omsk starts up new carbon black line at Volgograd facility
Volgograd , Russia – Omsk Carbon Group has recently started up a fourth carbon black production line at its Volgograd plant, the company has announced.
The 40 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) line will increase the capacity of the Volgograd carbon black facility to 200ktpa, according to an Omsk Carbon statement.
The project is part of a “radical upgrade” to improve product quality, increase production volumes and expand the product range of the site in south east Russia.
The expansion at Volgograd will strengthen Omsk’s competitveness, according to Nina Obvintseva, general director, Omsk Carbon Group OOO in the 21 July release.
“This is more than refurbishment of an individual facility,” said Obvintseva. “The Volgograd branch has become a leading-edge plant, employing new equipment and state-of-the-art technologies.”
“We stay strong in the pursuit of our goals and intend to boost our production and economic performance as this is essential to our competitive advantage and meeting the growing market needs,” added Valery Kaplunat, chairman of Omsk Carbon Group OO.
