London – Automotive parts maker Toyoda Gosei is concerned about the impact of Brexit on its UK manufacturing operation, according to a Nikkei Asian Review article.
The report quoted Toyoda Gosei president Naoki Miyazaki as saying: "We are afraid that Britain's decision to withdraw from the European Union will adversely affect us in tariffs and other matters."
Toyoda Gosei has maintained a subsidiary in the UK for around 20 years, noted the Nikkei report, which examined the increasing effect of global politics and events on a range of Japanese multinationals.
Car parts maker Toyoda Gosei’s UK operations include a major plant for the manufacture of weatherstrip and other interior/exterior parts, based in Rotherham, Yorkshire.
