Clermont-Ferrand, France – Michelin and Boeing-owned Aviall have announced plans to create a “global strategic collaboration agreement”, the French tire maker said in a statement 12 July.
Aviall is an aftermarket supply-chain management service company for the aerospace and defence industries and the agreement aims to align its global distribution footprint with Michelin's aircraft tire business.
The initiative, said Michelin, will improve logistics and supply chain models to better service field-base operators as well as maintenance, repair, and operating suppliers.
"We have always been a partner with Aviall, but this strategic initiative will allow us to improve our efficiency in getting our tires to the market and growing our business," said Frank Moreau, president of Michelin Aircraft Tire.
