Asahi Kasei opens European subsidiary
Dusseldorf, Germany – Asahi Kasei has officially opened a European office in the German city of Dusseldorf in a bid to expand its automotive business.
The company announced on 16 June that the expansion of automotive-related applications was one of its strategic areas of focus, and that it was reinforcing marketing, R&D, and technical support customers.
Asahi Kasei launched Asahi Kasei Europe this April to establish “deeper ties with the European automotive industry and to accelerate the expansion of business in Europe”.
The company also said that it was working on keeping up-to-date with the dynamic environment of the automotive industry in terms of new technologies and value-added products.
Hideki Tsutsumi is the president of the €1-million susbsidiary, which will be active in sales and marketing of chemicals, polymers, fibres, and electronic devices.
“In the materials sector we are emphasising the automotive market and the European market. We have a wide range of automotive-related products, including fuel-efficient tire rubber, fibre materials for upholstery and airbags, engineering plastics to substitute for metal…,” said Asahi Kasai vice-president Yuji Kobayashi.
The European automotive industry, he said, is very attractive to Asahi Kasei as an important strategic target under its new three-year management initiative.
