Osaka, Japan – Toyo Tire and Rubber Co’s chairman and representative director Katsumi Komaguchi has resigned, the Japanese company announced on 27 May.
Komaguchi cited “personal matters” as the reason for his resignation which is effective immediately.
Komaguchi jointed Toyo in November last year to replace Akira Nobuki, who resigned in the wake of a scandal involving non-compliant earthquake-proof rubber bearings sold in Japan.
Komaguchi, 65, joined Toyo from Kyocera Document Solutions Inc., where he was a representative director and deputy chairman.
