Essen, Germany - Hot on the heels of its successful first day, Future Tire Conference 2016 will continue its second day with focus on advances in materials and tire manufacturing.
Future tire plants, automation, and lean production will be discussed by speakers from Pelmar Engineering, Rockwell, Goodyear, Pirelli and VMI during the morning session of the conference.
The afternoon session will cover discussions from the automotive industry and materials development experts on virtual testing and innovations. Speakers from leading companies, including GM, Bridgestone, Sumitomo Rubber Industries, and TARRC will take part in the afternoon session.
The two-day Future Tire Conference 2016 opened on 24 May, with ETRMA president and Continental executive Christian Koetz' keynote on the future direction of the tire industry in terms of new mobility technologies and the regulatory pressures facing the sector going forward.
Apollo strategy advisor Francesco Gori, who previously served as Pirelli CEO, discussed the company's strategy in Europe, with speakers from the China Rubber Industry Association, market analyst LMC International, European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA) and OBE Peter Taylor of the Tyre Recovery Association (TRA).
