Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg’s offshore operation in Norway, signed a framework agreement with Statoil for the supply of a number of products and services including Elastopipe, corrosion protection, passive fire protection (PFP) as well as thermal insulation, the company announced on 13 April.
Elastopipe is a flexible piping system typically used in deluge and sprinkler systems, nitrogen distribution systems and chemicals and hydrocarbon transportation.
The system offers high tolerance to impact, jet fire (+2,552 °F / +1,400 ?C for one hour), explosion and water hammer.
The (PFP) products FireStop will be protecting topside equipment and structures, which according to Trelleborg will provide time to evacuate people, close down critical equipment and allow responders to gain control of the fire.
Also, rubber-based thermal insulation material Vikotherm R2, S1 and P7 will be used to avoid formation of hydrate plugs and wax build-up in subsea structures.
