Weinheim, Germany — Freudenberg Sealing Technologies has appointed Rainer Joest as its new president for its global automotive sales and m arketing organization, effective 1 April.
He replaces Torsten Maschke, who will leave the company at the end of March to join Datwyler Holding Inc.’s Sealing Solutions division.
Freudenberg said Joest brings extensive experience in R&D, sales and manufacturing to his new position. He joined the firm’s R&D organisation in 1978. He took over the management of automotive sales in Europe in 2011.
In 2006, Joest was promoted to head of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies’ Special Sealing Products unit, a position he’s held since 2010. Since that time he’s been in charge of the firm’s global Gasket Division, with responsibility facilities in Europe, the US, Brazil, India and China.
