Brussels – The EU passenger car market continued its growth trends in the month of January, marking the 29th consecutive month of growth.
Registrations grew 6.2 percent compared to January 2015, according to the Brussels-based European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
A total of 1,061,150 units were sold during the period.
“This result is encouraging for the near future, as the upward market trend remains stable,” said ACEA.
Italy led the growth by 17.4 percent, followed by Spain with 12.1 percent. Also the French, German and UK passenger car markets grew during the opening month of 2016, although at more modest rates.
