Wilmington, Delaware – Newly formed Chemours Co. is cutting its global workforce by around 400 positions, approximately 5 percent of its total employee and contractor base.
The cuts are part of ongoing efforts to streamline and simplify the structure of the organisation worldwide and to reduce costs, said a 30 Nov press release.
Part of a wider ‘transformation plan’, the move will cost the company around $45 million (€41 million) in the fourth quarter of 2015 but deliver annual savings of about $50 million.
Spun off from DuPont on 1 July, Chemours supplies titanium technologies, fluoroproducts – including fluoroelastomers – and chemical ‘solutions’.
