Tokyo – Bridgestone Corporation has announced that its board of directors has approved the appointment of Keiko Unotoro as a member of its board of directors.
In a press release on 17 Feb, the company said the appointment was Subject to approval at the company's annual shareholders' meeting on 24 March.
Unotoro has been serving as a part-time lecturer of the Graduate School of Senshu University since 2000. She is also a professor of the faculty of business administration of Toyo Gakuen University since 2013.
In a separate announcement, Bridgestone Americas said that it had hired Tony Orlando, to become the president of Bridgestone Agricultural Tire, US & Canada Commercial Tire Sales (BAAG).
The title has been vacant since June 2014.
Orlando began his career at BP in 1988 as a manufacturing process engineer and continued in a number of roles, including strategy development, financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture management, business development and sales and marketing.
