Brussels – The European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers' Association ETRMA is highlighting its role in a newly formed body set up to address skills shortages in the EU automotive industry.
The Automotive Skills Council is focusing on job creation, retraining and job transformation in the automotive sector. It will also work to secure funding for training activities in the industry and improve the exchange of information in this area.
ETRMA said it will be working with project leader CLEPA (the European Association of Automotive Suppliers) and other partners on the initiative. Their targets include creating a platform able to shape European employment policies with regard to skills.
“We look forward to a fruitful cooperation and to the creation of a pool of experience and expertise that will help us in our future labour-market challenges”, said Fazilet Cinaralp, secretary general of the ETRMA.
