Bridgestone recognises its top TQM facilities

Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has presented top awards to its plants in Poznan, Poland and Cuernavaca, Mexico at its annual, in-house total quality management (TQM) conference.
The conference on 12 Sept in Kodaira, Tokyo, was the fifth staging of the event, which is intended to further improvement activities throughout the tire and rubber products group worldwide.
A total of 15 improvement activities across various functions, such as production, sales and service were presented, and the activities were judged according to how well on-site needs were addressed.
The Polish and Mexican sites were among three to earn the newly introduced ‘grand prize’ – the third going to the Bridgestone Tire Japan Co. Ltd operation in Japan. The company did not provide details of the award-winning TQM activities.
The 2014 conference was attended by over 270 Bridgestone employees from countries, including Japan, the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, Italy, Poland, China, Thailand, Singapore, UAE and South Africa.
