Tokai Rubber helps Hiroshima landslide victims

Komaki, Japan – Tokai Rubber Industries (TRI) has donated 600,000 yen to the victims of the Hiroshima landslide in Japan.
Heavy rain caused the landslide on 20 August, and according to Japan Today the death toll currently stands at 70, with 18 still missing.
TRI said: “This donation activity is intended to support the lifestyles of local victims who suffered major damage, and be put towards their recovery and rehabilitation.”
In addition to the company’s help, the ‘TRI Warm Societal Contribution Fund’, which is sponsored by both the company and its employees, is cooperating to contribute money towards the ‘Hiroshima City 8/20 Torrential Rain Disaster Assistance Fund’ which is being collected by Hiroshima City.
TRI added: “We respectfully offer our condolences to those who lost their lives in the torrential rain induced landslides that occurred in the city of Hiroshima in the early morning of August 20, 2014, and along with which we express our heart-felt sympathy for everyone who suffered.”
