Lanxess appoints Krahn Chemie as new distribution partner

Hamburg, Germany – The Lanxess High Performance Elastomers unit has transferred its distribution business in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia to Krahn Chemie Polska.
The core products of this division are the technical rubber products CR, EVM, NBR and HNBR.
The portfolio of the High Performance Elastomers business unit includes Baypren polychloroprene rubber, Therban HNBR, the ethylene-vinyl acetate rubbers Levapren and Levamelt and the NBR types Perbunan, Krynac and Baymod N.
The main fields of application for the products are in the areas of automobile manufacturing, mechanical engineering, the construction industry, gas/oil exploration and production, and the electrical and cable industries. The high-performance elastomers are also used as modifiers for raw materials for plastics and adhesives.
Jaroslaw Rogalinski, managing director of Krahn Chemie Polska, said: "With the technical rubbers range from Lanxess, we have been able to further expand our portfolio for the rubber processing industry. Hence, we are now in an even better position to be able to supply our customers with the ideal elastomer for every application of their technical rubber products."
In addition to the synthetic rubbers from Lanxess, the Krahn Chemie Polska portfolio for the rubber processing industry also includes epichlorohydrin rubber (ECO), CPE, EPDM, FKM as well as additives and plasticisers.
Krahn Chemie, which has a history spanning over 100 years, is part of the Otto Krahn group of companies based in Hamburg, Germany. The core business of Krahn Chemie is the distribution and marketing of chemical raw materials and specialty chemicals. It has various subsidiaries: ICH Benelux in the Netherlands, Pietro Carini in Italy, as well as Krahn Chemie Polska and ICH Poland in Poland are also part of the group.
In 2013, the Krahn Chemie group achieved a turnover of €150 million and currently employs a staff of 160.
