Bridgestone Spanish plant scoops sustainability award

Burgos, Spain – Bridgestone’s Burgos plant won the “Ciudad de Burgos” award in the "Sustainable Development" category last month.
Bridgestone Hispania was recognised for its “commitment to the environment through various initiatives in its production processes”.
Examples of their 2013 environmental activities included: "Plant a tree with us", "Environment Month", "Earth Week", "Bridgestone Bicycle Ride", and "Environmental volunteering".
The Burgos plant was established in the city in 1967.
Kepa Hernandez, managing director, said: “The plant sets annual action plans which focus efforts on the most relevant fields by enhancing and adapting its facilities or adding new equipment to reach greater environmental quality.”
