2D is to be for REA JET
ERJ Staff Report (TP)
Cologne, Germany - REA JET, who provide industrial coding and marking, spoke with ERJ yesterday at the Tire Technology Expo 2014 about its new 2D codes and plans to improve on its double-digit growth.
Lutz Dittmann, Business Development Manager, said: "This year, for the first time, we want to discuss the printing of 2D codes - which gives customers more room for more information.
"This extends the information instead of just an alphanumeric code. We demonstrate an alternative and have based it on inkjet technology to apply a different colour on the tread line.
"This underpins that REA wants to be a partner for the tire industry - we want to cover the entire tire manufacturing process and have a new division for labelling in REA."
Last year the company’s financial results showed double-digit growth and they will continue to expand in 2014. REA opened a new subsidiary in Italy and are "considering other countries" at present.
Because the firm also works with food industry packaging and the pharmaceutical industry, Dittmann believes this is a good background for profitable growth of the company.
In addition to all these developments he explained they have always had a "special focus" on the rubber industry, especially tires.
"Nine out of ten of the biggest tire manufacturers are already running our systems. And we are fighting for the remaining one," he added.
