Kawasaki and Maxxis announce commercial partnership
ERJ staff report (TP)
Suffolk, UK − Maxxis Tyres said it has become the official partner of Kawasaki Motors and will be working closely not just on the competition circuits, but also in the commercial environment.
In terms of racing, Maxxis will be backing all officially supported Kawasaki Motors UK race teams including GBmoto Kawasaki in British Superbikes, Pendrich Kawasaki in the MX2 British Championship and also the company’s official youth team, Kawasaki Team Green.
In concert with this, Maxxis will be working closely with the Kawasaki dealer network in order to further promote their comprehensive range of road and off-road motorcycle tires to the wider public.
Mark Spiller, Marketing and Brand Development Manager for Kawasaki Motors UK, said: “We have enjoyed support from Maxxis for many years, and it has resulted in combined benefits such as the joint support for the Chris Walker Race School using Maxxis tires on its Ninja ZX-6R track machines. To finally have this commercial partnership launched is fantastic news for both companies, and we are anticipating great success in the years to come”.
Derek McMartin, Managing Director of Maxxis Tyres UK, added: “We are very excited to be working so closely with such a major manufacturer as Kawasaki. Our existing relationship with them has been very fruitful. Extending this away from the race track and into the business environment is something very important to us, and something we look forward to seeing evolve”.
