    ERJ staff report (BC)

Colchester, UK – Tire manufacturer Falken Tyre Europe GmbH has joined the UK campaigning lobby TyreSafe, spurred on by the alarming results from its own tire safety survey at a primary school where over 30 per cent of the parents' cars checked had tires in illegal condition.

As a TyreSafe member, Falken will enjoy access to campaign materials, as well as early access to campaign themes to co-ordinate with its own activities and other member-only benefits.

Stuart Jackson, chairman of TyreSafe, said: "Although alarming, unfortunately I don't think the results from Falken's primary school tire safety survey are unusual. They go to show that joining Tyresafe and helping us spread the tire safety message is vitally important work."

Since its inception in 2006, TyreSafe claims that its activities have helped reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in the UK in tire-related incidents by 30 per cent.
