PHP Fibers showcases 'Enka TecTape' at TTE Cologne
ERJ staff report (TP)
Cologne, Germany – PHP Fibers, based in Wuppertal, Germany, announced its Enka TecTape will be on show at the Tire Technology Expo (TTE), in Cologne, 11-13 February.
The company said: “Enka TecTape is a new product, designed for multiple uses in technical applications that require light weight and thin, but also high-tenacity textile structures with excellent built-in adhesion to rubber properties.
“[Our product] is a high-tenacity multifilament tape, based actually on PA6.6 polymer. Our TecTape process aligns the single filaments into a tape with 3mm width and only 0.1mm thickness. Thus, a textile fabric with substantial weight reduction can be produced.
“Therefore, Enka TecTape is able to play an important role in the industry efforts to develop tires with reduced rolling resistance.”
During the TTE, PHP Fibers will be in the Chemical & Materials Hall at booth C610.
According to its website, “PHP Fibers is a globally operating company in the area of industrial filament yarns whose origins extend back to 1899. More than 750 employees work in the development, production and sale of high-tenacity polyamide and polyester filament yarns and their polymers at locations in Europe, America and Asia. Excluding the joint venture in China, the company achieved a turnover of around €250m in 2012.”
