Iberian tire association joins ITMA
ERJ staff report (TP)
Essex, UK − ADINE, the National Association of Tyre Importers and Distributors, in the Iberian Peninsula has become the latest organisation to join the Imported Tyre Manufacturers Association (ITMA).
ADINE will become an Affiliate Member of ITMA from the start of 2014, giving its own members greater and more timely access to technical and legislative regulations affecting the sale of tires in Europe.
The Association represents some 170 businesses across Spain and Portugal. It works closely with public authorities across the two countries and acts as a single voice for the industry in response to any new regulations proposed by their governments.
“2013 has been one of the busiest years for ITMA in terms of welcoming new members so it’s fantastic that 2014 will start off in a similar vein,” said Alfred Graham, president, ITMA.
“The sheer scale and complexity of the information provided by ITMA continues to be a huge benefit to our members, especially those without their own technical centres in Europe. Therefore we expect to be working very closely with our Spanish and Portuguese colleagues over the coming months and years and we look forward to supporting them in their efforts.”
ITMA works with other tire industry associations, UK government departments and the European Union. It acts in response to any proposed regulations that are likely to impact or affect its members.
