Magna Tyres find success in Polish open pit mine
ERJ staff report (TP)
Waalwijk, the Netherlands − Dutch tire manufacturer Magna Tyres announced on 6 January that an open pit, dolomite mine, in southern Poland has been successfully using its 26,5R25 MA08 L5 tires for the last four years, both on Liebherr 576 and Hyundai HL 770 vehicles.
The first set of tires, after 11,000 hours, is still in motion with around 15 percent of its original tread depth left. The customer decided to purchase another set of tires – this time the MAGNA MA05.
The MA08 tire is designed for use on wheel loaders, dozers and graders requiring maximum traction. The optimised square-shouldered design provides stability and protection from cuts. The aggressive, open tread pattern provides extra traction and stable ground contact.
The MA05 is designed for extreme loader applications in surface mines, quarries, scrap yards and underground mines. The crown and sidewall are reinforced to prevent damage and extend tire life in severe operating conditions. Operator comfort and machine maintenance are enhanced by not having to resort to the use of solid or foam filled tires.
