Bridgestone evaluates car tire capacity boost for Turkey
ERJ staff report (BC)
Tokyo – Bridgestone's affiliate Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Brisa) is considering investing in a new passenger car radial tire plant in Turkey.
The new plant, potential sites for which are being evaluated, would join the company's existing radial tire facility in Izmit which makes truck, bus and car tires.
Bridgestone points to Turkey’s high rate of growth in GDP, and a sound demographic composition (with a population of approximately 75m having an average age of 28.8 years). Additionally, says the company, tire demand in Turkey is expected to grow.
