Delticom acquiring Tirendo for $67m

    Hanover, Germany – German online tire retailer Delticom will purchase control of Tirendo Holding and its subsidiaries for €50m. Hanover-based Delticom opened www.ReifenDirekt.de was one of Germany’s first online tire shops in 2000. The firm currently claims 6m customers in 42 countries and an annual turnover of around €500m.

    "Tirendo complements our existing portfolio of shops with another strong brand. The acquisition will allow us to target additional consumer groups," board member Frank Schuhardt commented.

    Berlin-based Tirendo was founded in October 2011 by European Media Holding and launched its Web store in March 2012. Its second year of business is expected to yield sales in the mid-double-digit-million-euro range.
