    ERJ staff report (BC)

Stuttgart – Michelin has developed a new aftermarket version of its Pilot Super Sport for the Porsche Carrera GT, 1,270 of which

were built between 2003 and 2006.

The new version of the Pilot Super Sport, which replaces the current Pilot Sport PS2 fitment, features the Porsche designation "N0" on the sidewalls.

The tread compound is manufactured on the same production line as Michelin’s racing tires and features the company’s "Bi-Compound" technology, in which different rubber compounds are used for the inside and outside of the tread area. The tire's casing belt is made from a mixture of aramid fibres, claimed to be especially durable. In addition, Michelin’s Variable Contact Patch 2.0 technology is cited as distributing pressure evenly across the tire. Compared to the previous model, mileage is up by 10 percent on the road and by as much as 20 percent on race tracks, Michelin stated.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport Carrera GT tires are available now in 265/35 ZR 19 98Y N0 and 335/30 ZR 20 108Y N0 sizes.
