Invista teams with SilicoLife on bio-derived butadiene

Wichita, Kansas and Guimaraes, Portugal – Chemicals and materials supplier Invista and computational biology company SilicoLife are to collaborate on bio-derived processes for making industrial chemicals. Butadiene will be an initial focus of the partnership.
SilicoLife provides in silico (performed on computer or via computer simulation) “metabolic engineering” solutions, building computational models of microbial cells and developing algorithms to determine the most efficient pathways between raw materials and end products.
