Conti honours suppliers, presents inaugural innovation award
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Regensburg, Germany – Continental has awarded 13 companies with its automotive ‘supplier of the year 2012 ‘award at a ceremony in Frankfurt, Germany.
The award are based on an annual appraisal of more than 900 suppliers, Conti said. This year’s event also brought first-ever presentation of the special innovation award, which Continental presented to two of its most “exceptional” and “innovative” suppliers.
In a 21 June news release, Günter Fella, head of purchasing at Continental Automotive, underlined the fundamental importance of extensive and trusting collaboration with suppliers. “Over recent years we have continuously improved our high standard of quality. And here the annual Supplier of the Year awards and the annual appraisals of supplier capabilities on which they are based played a key part,” he said.
Last year, the Continental Automotive Group purchased raw materials, components and engineering support to the value of some €11.2 billion from over 4000 suppliers worldwide.
