GSDI introduces rare-earth free heat stabiliser for silicone rubber
ERJ staff report (BC)
Barberton, Ohio – GSDI, a supplier of colour and additive dispersions for silicone rubber, has launched Silcosperse 500, a rare-earth free dispersion designed to improve product performance in high-temperature applications.
Silcosperse 500 dispersions are claimed to increase the heat stability of silicone formulations to withstand temperatures up to 260°C, suiting them to applications in the automotive, aerospace and appliances industries. Examples include seals, covers, insulators, gaskets and O-rings.
The dispersion is supplied as a millable dispersion gum. It is available in quantities down to 4.5kg to facilitate smaller-volume, niche applications.
GSDI’s parent company PolyOne will showcase Silcosperse 500 and other GSDI products solutions at K 2013 in Düsseldorf from 16-23 October (Stand J13, Hall 8a)
