Dunlop backing new junior motocross championship
ERJ staff report (BC)
Birmingham, UK – Dunlop will supply tires for the new Honda European 150 Championship.
The series is the new junior support class to the FIM Motocross World Championship and is a stage designed for young talent from around the world. Motocross riders aged between eleven and 14 will compete in five events on identical Honda CRF 150 R machines. The first round takes place at Ernée, France on 9 June.
Roger Harvey, offroad racing manager for Honda Europe, said: “It’s great that Dunlop is extending its support of Honda’s projects from MX1, which is their main focus for development, to our junior programme. We believe it is important to support young riders as they are coaxed through the racing ranks, and we hope to have a future champion from this series. Obviously the riders are racing at Grand Prix tracks, so it’s imperative that they have quality tires to hone their skills on.”
