Management changes at Lanxess

Leverkusen - Speciality chemicals company Lanxess has announced management changes at three of its 14 business units.
Dr Ron Commander (62), head of the Butyl Rubber business unit (BTR), will retire at the end of 2013, in the meantime taking on a new role with Lanxess in Canada with effect from 1 July.
Dr Günther Weymans (55), currently head of the Keltan Elastomers business unit (KEL) based in Geleen in the Netherlands, will succeed Commander as head of BTR based in Singapore as of 1 July. Weymans completed the integration of the EPDM business from DSM.
Weymans’ successor as head of the Keltan Elastomers business unit is Dr Torsten Derr, with effect from 1 June. The 43-year-old is currently responsible for the Lanxess Material Protection Products business unit (MPP), which he realigned and expanded.
Derr’s position as Head of MPP will be taken over by Mr. Michael Schaefer (38), effective May 1. Schaefer is currently responsible for the Biocides business line at MPP.
