Yokohama to boost Thai tire capacity

Tokyo - The Yokohama Rubber Co. will start the second phase of expanding its Thai truck and bus tire production facility in July.
The company will invest a total of 8bn yen (€62m) in the second plant, which will occupy with a building area of 2.6 hectares. With the expansion, Yokohama Rubber will increase its Thai truck and bus tire capacity from 350 000 to 700 000 tires a year.
The second plant will start manufacturing in April 2015, and be fully on stream the following December.
