ERJ staff report (LMH)
Hanover, Germany – ContiTech Fluid Automotive Hungária has opened a new fuel line production hall at its Vác, Hungary site, expanding the current 1100 sq.m. hall to 3300 sq.m.
The investment of several million euro in the production lines and laboratory facilities forms part of a €5 million investment programme in the business. Employee numbers have increased by 10 percent, reaching 671, ContiTech said.
"By this summer, Vác will be the production centre for all fuel lines destined for the European market," commented Petra Beckmann, head of Fuel Supply & Exhaust Gas Management in an April news release.
Hungary is becoming an increasingly important base for ContiTech. Its Fluid Automotive business is supported by an equally new compounding facility in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, which supplies primary materials to hose production in Makó and ContiTech air spring production in Nyíregyháza. At its site in Szeged, Hungary, ContiTech also produces industrial lines, lines for oil and gas extraction, and conveyor belt systems.
