ERJ staff report (BC)
Mountain View, California – In a new report, Frost & Sullivan attributes a contraction in the global medium- and heavy-duty truck market in 2012 to declining demand in major volume markets such as China, India, Brazil and Europe.
However, markets in North America and Russia grew, with the latter the fastest growing in the BRIC countries.
“Next 11 markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, and all major African markets experienced robust truck sales.
A Frost & Sullivan spokesman said: “2013 is shaping up as the year in which subtle yet decisive changes in many aspects of commercial vehicle design and architecture will create platforms for unprecedented levels of advanced technology integration, in a flat world ecosystem.”
