TyreSafe to host part-worn tire webinar
ERJ staff report (BC)
Colchester, UK - In a bid to improve the standards of part worn tyres being sold in the UK, the tire safety promoter TyreSafe will host its first ever webinar on Monday 25 February.
The free-to-join session will provide attendees with a summary of the legislation affecting the sale of part-worn tyres, and is designed to deliver practical advice on how tires should be inspected, common problems to look for and what steps must be taken to ensure used tires are sold legally.
TyreSafe chairman Stuart Jackson said: “We have some very good and well established and legislation in the UK regarding the sale of part-worn tires. But as numerous investigations have shown, it is simply not being adhered to by a large number of retailers. Those failing to comply with the regulations not only risk falling foul of the Consumer Protection Act, but more importantly risk the safety of their customers and other road users.â€
TyreSafe invites trading standards officers, road safety professionals, tire retailers and other interested parties to register for the free webinar online or by telephoning +44 (0)1787 226995.
