ContiTech opens new compounds plant in Hungary

NyÃregyháza, Hungary -- ContiTech has opened a new plant for rubber compounds 5 Dec in NyÃregyháza, Hungary. Around 25 new jobs have been created at this production site.
The plant belongs to Phoenix Légrugró Technológia Ltd, which already operates a plant for air spring systems in NyÃregyháza with 220 employees.
The new compounding centre supplies the ContiTech plants for air suspension systems in NyÃregyháza, the hose production sites in Makó, Hungary and Carei, Romania, as well as external customers in the region.
The production hall - initially equipped with one compounding line - was built in a six-month construction period. Space is available for expansion, ContiTech said. The German rubber technology company invested around €5 million in the new plant.
"We are delighted that we have been able to create 25 new jobs with support from the European Union and the Hungarian Development Agency Corporation (MAPI)," said László Jókay, who is currently the Head of the Air Suspension Plant but is also due to assume responsibility for the compounding centre.
ContiTech has a total of around 2800 employees in Hungary working at its sites in Szeged, Makó and Vác.
