Hoosier opens mixing line in Indiana
ERJ staff report (DS)
Plymouth, Indiana - Hoosier Racing Tires has opened its new mixing line. The line is expected to satisfy Hoosier's rubber mixing needs for years to come.
Ground was broken almost one year ago to the day for the new facility that increases Hoosier's mixing capacity nearly three-fold as the company prepares for future growth opportunities. The new mixer has been fully tested and verified and at the conclusion of the ceremony was immediately powered up and put into operation.
The company said in January this year that it was budgeting $8 million for the project. NO information was given about the mixer or capacity, but John DeSalle, vice president of engineering and manufacturing said the firm was budgeting $2.7 million for the physical property work and $5.6 million for the equipment and installation.
